Our Journey

Kardinal Healthcare’s journey began with a deeply personal experience that shaped its mission and values. In 2007, Helen and Carl Hancorn turned a family challenge into an opportunity to help others. Inspired by the care their son Sam received following a life-changing accident, they set out to create a company dedicated to delivering exceptional support and care. From humble beginnings at home to establishing their offices in Broadwater, Kardinal Healthcare has grown into a trusted provider, driven by compassion, dedication, and a commitment to making a difference.

Sam, aged 11, suffered a serious skiing accident in Austria, fracturing his skull. He was saved by the Kardinal Schwarzenburg Hospital, inspiring Helen and Carl to start their journey.
February 2007
Helen and Carl Hancorn founded Kardinal Healthcare. Helen left her London role to care for Sam and began building the company from home, focusing on care and support.
June 2007
Kardinal Healthcare moved into offices in Broadwater. This marked a new chapter for the company, where they continue to grow and provide exceptional care services today.

Yvonne Bishop has been a dedicated care worker for eight years, earning countless compliments from clients and families. She consistently goes above and beyond, from providing personalized care and emotional support to noticing small details, such as helping a client’s unwell pet. Yvonne’s kindness, patience, and ability to put clients at ease, particularly those with dementia or complex needs, have made her a trusted and invaluable carer. Her compassion and dedication truly embody the spirit of exceptional care.

Winner – Care 'Oscars'

Donna Brodrick, a senior healthcare assistant, won the Chair’s Award for her exceptional care and dedication. After overcoming a brain tumour, she returned to work with renewed compassion and resilience. With over 20 years in the care sector, Donna’s commitment to helping others makes her an inspiration to colleagues and clients alike. She encourages others to consider a career in care, highlighting the joy of making a real difference.
