‘I joined Kardinal as a healthcare assistant having not worked in care before. After a few years I decided to progress my career further and started studying at college to become a nurse. I now work as a registered nurse in A&E’ – Dan

College and University Students
We have a number of both college and university students who work for us around their courses. We particularly welcome those students studying to have a career in the healthcare sector.

‘I started as a carer at Kardinal when my children were young, and their flexible hours allowed me to work around my busy lifestyle. However, when my children went to high school, I decided to progress my career further. I attended University and trained become a nurse. I was still able to work with Kardinal around my uni times which was really beneficial. I am now a practice nurse and couldn’t have done this without the flexibility of the hours at Kardinal. Thank you' – Sarah

More about Homecare
All of our clients are cared for within their own homes and each and every one of these clients have different care needs and different personalities.

We have a varied age range of clients from children through to the elderly. Some clients may have one call a week and some may require four calls a day depending on their needs.

Some of our homecare clients have very complex care needs and these packages of care are often delivered by highly skilled healthcare assistants and may require two care staff to assist them. We would train you specifically to meet the needs of these clients.

In addition to our more complex care packages, we also provide care to our homecare clients on a more social basis such as companionship calls or taking them out shopping.

We believe in continuity and our healthcare assistants enjoy the rapport they are able to build with the clients on a regular basis and the difference they can make to their lives.

Our Healthcare Assistants love the variety and flexibility of our roles, which we can offer due to the large variety of clients that we work with.
